Fiction

Jill Dawson with Paul Blezard

Jill Dawson has carved a niche by taking her formidable research and writing talents and deploying them on works of fiction that have their basis in true life events. With previous subjects as diverse as Patricia Highsmith, Rupert Brooke and the feral child of Aveyron, Dawson’s deft control of character and narrative captivates her readers.

This book is a fine exemplar. With a central character based on Sandra Rivett, Lord Lucan’s family nanny found bludgeoned to death in 1974, it features rogue aristocrats, a mysterious disappearance and as much salaciousness as any right-minded reader has a right to expect. Make a date in your diary for the spilling of the beans.
